Tommy’s Proudly Backing NZSO

Tommy’s is proud to announce a new partnership with the New Zealand Symphony Orchestra, bringing together two organisations with strong connections to Wellington and the people who make this city what it is.
As a Wellington-owned and operated business, we’ve always believed there’s more to being part of this city than simply doing business here. It means supporting the organisations, experiences and institutions that contribute to Wellington’s unique character.
The NZSO is an important part of that.
As New Zealand’s national orchestra, based here in Te Whanganui-a-Tara, the NZSO represents excellence on both a local and national stage. For Tommy’s Chief Executive, Ben Castle, there are also strong parallels between the two organisations.
“We see the same dedication in the NZSO that we see in any high-performing team: preparation, trust, resilience and people committing themselves to something bigger than the individual.”
Our support begins with the NZSO’s upcoming Wellington performance of Rhythm & Dance on 4 September, led by Artistic Advisor and Principal Conductor, Gemma New, and featuring Section Principal Clarinet, Patrick Barry, as soloist.
The partnership will continue into 2027, including the NZSO’s highly anticipated return to Te Whare Whakarauika Wellington Town Hall for Resurrection, a landmark occasion for the orchestra and for Wellington.
We’re incredibly proud to stand behind an organisation that brings people together through world-class music and adds so much to the cultural life of our city.
Another reason to be proud of Wellington and proud to support what happens here.
