Onesie Day 2025

Wellington Free Ambulance is the only emergency ambulance service for Greater Wellington and Wairarapa. Each year they respond to over 54,000 people in need of emergency medical treatment completely free of charge.
As well as providing Emergency Ambulance Services to anyone who needs help, Wellington Free Ambulance also operates one of the three 111 Clinical Communications Centers in New Zealand answering over 240,000 calls each year. The Wellington Free Ambulance Patient Transfer service takes people to and from scheduled medical appointments and treatments, completing around 40,000 transfers each year. The Event Medical Services team supports a wide variety of large-scale events across our region like sporting matches, festivals and concerts. Wellington Free Ambulance is the epitome of a small service with a mighty impact and there is no doubt they will have helped someone you love or know.
“Long-term partnerships with companies like Tommy’s who are equally passionate about supporting the community in which they live, and work are priceless.” Explains Claire Carruthers, General Manager of Fundraising and Communications at Wellington Free.
As an essential health service, Wellington Free Ambulance receives the majority of funding from the central Government but must fundraise around $ 8 million each year to ensure services remain free of charge and paramedics have all the vital equipment they need, for example, all their ambulances are philanthropically funded.
“The team goes above and beyond to weave Wellington Free Ambulance and the other community groups they support into all they do; they are more than just financial supporters; they are champions and ambassadors for the community good.” Said Claire.
